What is the PTA? The CMS Parent Teacher Association is a non-profit membership organization separate from the school whose mission is to enrich student experiences and support our school. Its members are parents and teachers who support the school through monetary donations and their volunteer time. It is 100% volunteer powered and 100% of donations go towards supporting CMS.

What do PTA funds get used for?

  • in class enrichment experiences
  • field trips
  • speakers
  • equipment for innovation in the classroom
  • teacher appreciation events
  • community building initiatives for families and students
  • fun for our students

What does being a PTA member get you:

  • access to the online family directory
  • a vote and a voice in how the PTA supports the school
  • access to volunteer and be on the ground support for CMS
  • fun CMS swag depending on your membership level

If I become a PTA member, do I have to volunteer or be involved? Not at all! Your level of involvement is up to you! While we would love to see all parents sign up to help at the school or events, we know everyone has busy lives. Becoming a PTA member means you make a contribution and you have a vote. Anything beyond that is up to you.

Why do I have to be a member to volunteer? PTA members are all covered under the PTA insurance policy which helps protect the entire community from liability.
